The brief

Dorset Council have historically commissioned a textiles recycling bank service, achieving high levels of income per tonne of textiles via a buoyant and competitive textiles market set in a climate that has favoured high levels of recycling within the community and free movement of labour to enable sorting of materials collected in the UK.\r \r Dorset Council therefore are looking for a supplier to provide recycling banks for textiles at the existing various locations within the Dorset Council area, and to maintain those banks.

This will extend to the collection of the textiles from those collection banks for reuse or recycling, removal of fly tipped material adjacent to the collection banks and the ability to increase the amount of collection banks throughout the area.\r \r This contract's specification will ensure the most social value as practicable and will encourage tender submission from those organisations supporting Textiles 2030 - creating a sustainable and circular industry by 2030.\r \r The proposed length of the contract is 6 years.

Comprising 4 years +1 +1.\r \r This is a concession contract and the estimated value of the contract (as advertised) is the estimated potential value of the opportunity to the supplier derived from the value of the textiles collected.
