The brief

As part of NHS England/Improvement's (NHSEI) commitment to the continuous improvement of the provision of psychological therapies for severe mental health problems (PT-SMHP), we work closely with Health Education England (HEE) to understand and meet the training demands of Trusts.

This is to ensure the workforce have the necessary skills and qualifications required to deliver evidence based psychological therapies and meet service demand.

The focus has to date been on training, however there is a recognition that high quality supervision of the evidence-based psychological therapy (EBPT) is essential to ensure that newly trained people can consolidate new skills and to ensure fidelity to the models.

As part of the national training programme to improve access to psychological therapies for severe mental health problems, funding has been made available nationally to rapidly increase supervisor capacity to support trainees.

The London region of Mental Health Trusts is therefore looking for suppliers to provide additional supervisory capacity across a number of psychological therapy modalities.

Multiple contracts may be awarded as a result of this process and the procurement is split into Lots based on service modalities.

The Lots are structured as follows: Supervision for Practioners: 1b - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Personality Disorder (CBT-PD) 1e - Mentalisation-based Therapy (MBT) 1f - Structured Clinical Management (SCM) 1g - Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Supervision for Supervisors: 2b - Mentalisation-based Therapy (MBT) 2c - Structured Clinical Management (SCM) It is expected that the contract/s will start on 14th March 2022 and run for a period of 13 months until 31 March 2022 with a total maximum cumulative value of £250,000 (excluding VAT) across all modalities.

The initial contract period will have an optional extension of up to 12 months at the sole discretion of the Authority.

Therefore, the total maximum cumulative value of contracts awarded under this procurement is £500,000.

The Procurement process will be facilitated entirely online via ProContract portal.
