The brief

Text to be corrected in the original notice: Place of text to be modified: VI.3 Instead of: Supplier day on 13 December Read: Supplier day on 9 January Other additional information: The purpose of this Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to forewarn service providers of requirement and highlight that we plan to hold a 'Supplier Day' for market sounding and to enable DVLA to describe and develop our proposed requirements.

The Supplier Day has been rescheduled for Wednesday 9 January and will be held at a location in Swansea.

Interested service providers must express their interest via e-mail to the named contact point in Section 1.1 above by 14:00 hours on Friday 4 January The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) currently have the following contracts: 1.Provision of Carbohydrate Deficient Transferrin (CDT) Testing & Confirmation Services and 2.Provision of Toxicology Services These contracts aide DVLA to make licensing decisions.

CDT sample screening provides further information of possible alcohol misuse through the analysis of blood samples and Toxicology provides screening and confirmation services for drugs of abuse through the analysis of urine samples.

DVLA are exploring if combining these services is a viable option.

Suppliers may consider consortiums and or sub-contracting with Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) to ensure delivery.

DVLA encourages fair and transparent procurement and omission from any part of the Department's market engagement exercise shall not be taken into account in any subsequent procurement.

It should be noted that responding to this notice does not place any service provider in an advantageous position.
