National Childhood Influenza Immunisation Framework

Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (GEM CSU) on behalf of NHS England has established a National Framework for the provision of Childhood Influenza Immunisation Services.

The National Framework for NHS England Sub-regions (formerly known as NHS England Area Teams) will enable them to ‘call–off’ for the annual delivery of Childhood Influenza Immunisations.

This will allow for a quicker solution as providers have been through Quality and Assurance checks to become accredited on the National Framework.

The aim of the service is to extend the existing annual routine immunisation programme against influenza to more age groups of children increasing quantity and quality to significantly lower the number of infections and outbreaks caused by the flu viruses.

The National Framework will be in place for a period of 3 years. ‘Call-off’ from the framework will allow for contracts up to 3 years commencing on the 01st of April 2015 and cease on the 31st March 2018 to be commissioned by NHS England Sub-regions.
