Motorcycle rider training provision in Sierra Leone
This sits in the lower-middle of the Education & Training band — a mid-scale opportunity. Based on 23,516 valued Education & Training tenders in our corpus.
Mott MacDonald Limited has been appointed by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) to deliver the Sierra Leone Secondary Education Improvement Programme (SSEIP - also known as Leh Wi Lan).
This programme supports the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education to improve learning outcomes for boys and girls at secondary level and to increase the enrolment, retention and well-being of girls and children with disabilities.
Integral to this work is a team of support officers who use motorcycles for essential travel throughout Sierra Leone.
Mott MacDonald is firmly committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety.
As part of that, all motorcycle users are required to undergo training in safe and compliant riding.
Mott MacDonald wishes to subcontract a specialist organisation to provide rider training to a cohort of 70 to 80 riders with varying levels of existing skill and experience.
This training will take place in Sierra Leone before the end of 2019.
It will involve both theoretical and practical elements, the latter in very small groups to permit differentiation and appropriate focus on individual skills development.
Initial and post-training skills assessments will be required.
Interested organisations must be able to demonstrate a strong track record of successful motorcycle rider training, preferably in Sierra Leone but definitely in comparable settings.
