The brief

Job Title: Social Work Area Manager Rate of Pay: ?26.23 per hour (Inside IR35) Hours: 37 hours per week Location: Hybrid/Sandwell Council House, Oldbury, B69 3DE Start Date: ASAP Contract type: Temporary (Agency) 12 weeks with a view to extend Job Description and Personnel Specification are attached, which also provides more information above the role.

Brief description: o To be responsible for the management and improvement of key performance for a number of service areas and the quality and standards that these service areas deliver. o To ensure that relevant policies and procedures are implemented as required.

There is an expectation that cover is provided to other Operational Managers within Adult Social Care and that where appropriate will deputise for the Assistant Director. o To have knowledge and understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory framework and Government initiatives relating to your service area, including safeguarding, and the needs of vulnerable adults. o The post holder will be an expert professional in relation to their area of responsibility and will be expected to provide appropriate briefings, guidance and advice to senior management.

This will include providing frameworks for the guidance, leadership and development of individual service areas in order to provide excellent customer care and services to Sandwell residents.

Detailed knowledge and application of key legislation in Adult Social Care o Detailed Knowledge, application and experience of Care Act 2014 o Evidence of application of Strengths Based Practice Approaches o Knowledge of Charging Reforms o Ability to maintain effective relationships with key partners/stakeholders o Ability to project manage We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is experienced in working alongside colleagues and partners to drive improvement and ensure projects are delivered to a high standard.

The post holder will also have experience of leading and motivating teams and an ability to lead on continuous quality improvement.

Enhanced DBS with Children's and Adults Barring List Check is required for this role.
