St Luke's Cancer Centre Development
The Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust are proposing to extend, reconfigure and refurbish the St Luke's Cancer Centre.
The Centre is a two-storey building with Levels A and B and was opened in 1996.
The building sits on a stepped site so that the main entrance on the South elevation is situated on the upper level (Level B), providing a single storey elevation.
At the main entrance, the building is met by a drop-off/delivery road which circulates the entrance area providing parking spaces and a green space with integral seating and vegetation.
The centre's lower level (Level A) is not visible from the South's main approach, but provides entry on the buildings North elevation, where a two storey elevation is visible.
The existing footprint of Level B of the St Luke's Cancer Centre is part of the Hospitals cancer treatment facilities and is occupied by patient exam/consulting rooms, offices, pharmacy, phlebotomy and associated ancillary facilities with the majority of the diagnostic and treatment facilities being located on Level A.
The proposed extension to Level B will provide improved staff and patient spaces including space for patient information services, flexible counselling/group spaces, indoor and outdoor patient waiting spaces, larger phlebotomy treatment area, more flexible consulting spaces with doctor consultation/review hubs and telephone clinic facilities.
The new extension will provide the space needed to redevelop Level B.
