The aim of the further competition is to ensure that HEE is able to put in place a service that is cost effective and efficient in supporting its organisational goals whilst ensuring value for money.
HEE requires the provision of support to the specification and scope as outlined below.
Public Health and prevention is a key part of the Midlands & East Transformation programme, that includes provision of Health Literacy awareness-raising training across Midlands and East together with delivery of "Train the Trainer" training.
This will include promotion of the national Health Literacy toolkit, Skills for Health resources and Scotland's e-learning.
The target audience will include primary and secondary care staff, fire and rescue services, job centre staff, community and voluntary services staff, local authority workers and social care staff.
This is in line with our commitment to embed the principles of public health and prevention in the training of our workforce.
The expectation is that the provider will offer HEE the benefits of: • Experience from having delivered similar engagement work in the past • Significant knowledge and experience of working with public health staff (at all levels) • An understanding of the policy drivers for Health Literacy • An in-depth knowledge of Midlands' and national Health Literacy tools and resources, including the Skills for Health resources and Scotland's e-learning The following are expected outcomes from this work: Delivery of training in Health Literacy across Midlands & East (e.g. in Birmingham, Cambridge, Leicester, Stafford) (12 days over the period January to May 2019) - 12 days Delivery of "Train the Trainer" training across Midlands & East (e.g. in Birmingham, Cambridge, Leicester, Stafford) (4 days over the period February to May 2019) - 4 days Preparation for delivery of the above - Up to 3 days Production of final evaluation report to HEE to include recommendations for next steps - 1 day
