The brief

The London Borough of Bromley is commissioning a Specialist Stop Smoking Service for adults and young people.

The intention is to appoint one specialist provider to deliver this service.\r The Specialist Stop Smoking Service will include behavioural support alongside the provision of appropriate evidence-based stop smoking aids to address tobacco dependence.

Behaviour support should be available via a variety of methods to suit the client and include face to face, telephone, and digital options.\r A pilot Stop Smoking Service, Smokefree Bromley has been in place since January 2024.

An expansive communication strategy for the new service will be required for residents and stakeholders as well as proactive outreach to engage targeted populations with higher rates of smoking.

Facilitating and promoting training to the wider workforce is necessary in order to support referrals into the service.

The service will also contribute to prevention strategies and work in partnership with other stakeholders as part of a system wide response to smoking cessation. \r The Specialist Stop Smoking Service contract will start on 1st April 2025 with an initial term of 4 years to 31st March 2029.
