Young People and Gambling Qualitative Research
This sits in the lower-middle of the Business Services band — a mid-scale opportunity. Based on 57,319 valued Business Services tenders in our corpus.
We currently collect data annually on 11-17 year olds via the Young People and Gambling Survey.
This research enables us to collect and publish official statistics on gambling-related behaviours and experiences, and the prevalence of problem gambling, amongst 11-17 year olds in Great Britain.
We are seeking competitive tenders to undertake qualitative research with 11-17 year olds to build on and contextualise the findings from the Young People and Gambling Surveys and strengthen the evidence base.
This will complement our ongoing collection of core data on overall rates of gambling participation and prevalence of problem gambling among 11-17 year olds.
The aim of this work is to build on and add context to the Young People and Gambling Survey findings to further develop our understanding of how young people are introduced to gambling products and activities that are new to them.
We also need to better understand the impact of these activities on young people, especially where it might be associated with risky or harmful gambling, which could be extremely impactful for strengthening harm-reduction measures for young people, or for targeting educational activities.
We want the research to 'tell the story' of young people's experiences of gambling and the impacts it can have.
However, it is important to consider that gambling can be a sensitive topic and we want young people to be as open and honest as possible without worrying that they may get into trouble for doing something their parents don't approve of or that could potentially be illegal.
