The brief

The Campus Kitchen is the University of East Anglia's Catering Service, their aim is to provide fresh, vibrant food made from local, sustainable, quality ingredients.

The Campus Kitchen manages a number of outlets which provide barista coffee, fresh patisserie and a blend of local and international cuisine.

The team also provide hospitality across campus and have a mobile coffee cart.

There are a number of other catering outlets on campus which are run by other organisations including Students Union and private catering companies.

The Campus Kitchen directly competes with these outlets for business and therefore the offering, including waiting times, payment methods and promotions available, is critical.

The Campus Kitchen operates to a tight budget and there are limits to what students will pay for meals so the service has to run as efficiently as possible which includes the monitoring of sales along with any stock wastage.

The current Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) hardware has reached the end of its life and is unable to support the function in all of the areas required.

The University is seeking a supplier who can provide new EPOS hardware including installation & commissioning.

The University requires 19 tills to be installed across its 8 outlets, 1 for a coffee cart and up to 4 additional units for mobile catering operations.
