The brief

The Police and Crime Commissioner is seeking to better understand the views, experiences and needs of South Yorkshire residents, with regard to policing.

The aim of this project is to establish a baseline assessment of the level of public trust and confidence in South Yorkshire Police & Crime Commissioner and an understanding of the areas where trust and confidence is most affected.

It will also provide insight into the reasons why particular views and perceptions are held and the factors that influence these most.

The project should engage a representative sample of the public of South Yorkshire in its varying communities.

This must include innovative techniques that allow those who tend to be less easy to reach to also have their voice heard.

We require a suitably experienced provider to evidence how they would capture these views across a diverse population; describe the techniques they would use to best achieve our objectives, and how they would access a representative cohort of the South Yorkshire public.

We welcome innovative approaches to sampling as long as they provide reliable results that can be extrapolated.
