Supply of Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors
This sits below the typical range for Medical Equipment & Pharmaceuticals contracts — a smaller, more accessible award. Based on 9,456 valued Medical Equipment & Pharmaceuticals tenders in our corpus.
PROJECT OVERVIEW Improved detection and diagnosis of hypertension is a priority for the Camden CCG and it has invested in several programmes to support its member GP practices and patients to achieve this aim.
In order to diagnose hypertension, NICE (National Institute of Health and Care Excellence) recommends, ‘1.2.3 If the clinic blood pressure is 140/90 mmHg or higher, offer ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) to confirm the diagnosis of hypertension.’ available to view online here.
There are 35 GP practices in Camden, each varying in the relative patient list size and demographics.
The list sizes range from below 5000 to over 20,000 registered patients.
These practices have already been equipped with home and ABPM devices.
With support from the CCG, the practices are committing to an increase in the proactive detection and screening of patients for hypertension.
In order to meet the potential increased demand, there is a need for providing additional ABPMs to the practices.

6.
Detection of Atrial Fibrillation is highly desirable 7.

The coordination of the delivery will be the responsibility of the supplier.

The details of these practices will be made available to the successful supplier.
3.
Phased Supply: After September 2016, additional ABPMs may be needed over time to meet demand in the remaining 22 GP practices.
The supplier is requested to provide the turn over time from when the request for additional ABPMs is made and the delivery is executed, and any other restrictions (such as minimum number to be ordered) with this phased approach.
Payment for additional ABPMs will be made available as required and is not included within this budget.
