CEFAS21-70 RFQ for vessel services to support a sampling study in Orkney
Cefas require a suitable vessel to carry out a marine survey based around a wreck, north of Flotta in Scapa Flow, Orkney.
The survey for which Cefas is seeking to secure a suitable vessel herein will consist of two independent parts (Part A and Part B), each comprising different aims, gear approaches and staff.
Part A (duration 5 days, potentially 7 days; see 'Period of hire' section) comprises sampling the seabed sediments and water column and will involve three Cefas scientists working alongside the vessel's crew.
Part B (duration 2 days) will be conducted by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) following the completion of Part A and will involve the deployment and operations of a Seaeye Falcon Remotely operated vehicle (ROV) which will be operated from the vessel and will be used around the wreck site.
