The brief

Uttlesford District Council is seeking to appoint one contractor to take prime contractual responsibility for the provision of Minor Civil Engineering Works and ad hoc repairs within the district.

There will also be a small element of emergency works when required.

Additionally, a number of new hard standing’s are constructed annually and involve consultation with the Highways authorities and public utility providers.

Planning permission is also required for some works and close detail to regulations stipulated by the Council’s Planning department is required.

All works must be constructed to current standards and the relevant Health & Safety procedures must be adhered to.

It is proposed that the successful contractor be appointed on the basis of the Cabinet Office model conditions of contract which have been tailored to this requirement and are provided for your information.
