The brief

The service will specifically cover healthcare provision in Custody Suites and forensic medical examinations in the adult Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) in Northamptonshire.

The Northamptonshire SARC service - Serenity, is currently provided through the Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust (NHFT) operating from premises on the Northampton General Hospital site.

New services will be in place from April 2018 - a regional paediatric service covering the East Midlands and an adult facility for Northamptonshire.

The Provider must carry out healthcare and forensic examinations on suspects, witnesses, and voluntary attendees, Northamptonshire Police personnel subject to assaults or complaints, attend scenes of sudden deaths and drink drive hospital procedure.

The Provider must carry out forensic examinations on adult victims via the SARC in Northamptonshire The Provider must operate an embedded service to Northamptonshire Police on a 24/7, 365/6 basis for the provision of Healthcare Services to both Custody Centres in the county.

In addition, a 365/6, 24/7 service must be provided to the adult SARC provision.

There are two custody sites in the County these are at Criminal Justice Centre, and Weekley Woods, Kettering.

Site visits will be made available to visit these centres with the details to be published on EU Supply Bluelight.

The Services to which this Procurement relates fall within Schedule 3 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (the 'Regulations').

As such, the procurement of the Services is being run as a bespoke, one stage application process akin to the Open Procedure, involving one stage which will be outlined within the suite of procurement documents.
