Essex County Council (ECC) is responsible for the aftercare and management of 12 closed landfill sites.

3 of these sites require landfill gas control which is currently undertaken using gas flares.

Investigations haveshown that these three sites can sustain low levels of electricity generation from landfill gas.

Essex County Council is seeking to install electricity generating equipment to utilise the landfill gas being mircogenerationequipment for to ensure continued management of landfill gas and to allow the Authority to secure an incomefrom sale of any electricity produced from the 3 land field sites.

The successful provider will be responsiblefor serving and maintaining the 3generators on each of the sites for a period of five years.

There will be an option to extend the service and maintenance agreement on an annual renewal basis for a period of five years.

The Authority shall be running this requirement via an EU Public Regulation Open Process.

Potential tenderers are welcome to view the sites the 3 sites detailed in the specification document.

Potential bidders are to use this event to view each site and to identify any issues that may delay or prevent installation.

A Question & Answer session with the Authority's representatives will also be offered as part of this event.
