Hemsworth Water Park - path resurfacing

Hemsworth Town Council invites tenders for the resurfacing of the pathway within Hemsworth Water Park.

Minimum requirements • Construction Line / Chas. • £5 million public liability insurance. • Two years trading. • Achieve a score of over 35 on Experian. • Two references of previous work ideally within a similar industry and/or setting.

Background to works Hemsworth Town Council owns several facilities within the local area.

One of its leisure facilities is Hemsworth Water Park, Hoyle Mill Road, Kinsley, Pontefract, WF9 5JB.

It is primarily an environment for families/children.

The facilities have been up kept to a good standard, but a schedule of works has been agreed by the council for the re-surfacing of the perimeter path.

The Works There is a perimeter path that extends to approximately 790 metres, all in varying conditions with varying edge treatments.

We are looking to instruct a contractor via this tender process to carry out the works below.

The works will need to be carried out Monday to Friday and no weekend work will be allowed due to heavy public attendance on weekends.

You will be responsible for any required barriers and signage.

A schedule must be provided and adhered to so that the council can ensure the public is aware of the works that are happening and the areas of the park that will be out of bounds for the duration of the work.

A site visit is required to confirm measurements.

This tender is a fixed price tender and no variations will be accepted.

Specification • Removal of vegetation. • Apply weedkiller to area. • Install and replace timber edging (minimum thickness of 22mm) to edge of path where required. • Hardcore to be regulated and compacted to facilitate 50mm thickness of surfacing. • Supply and lay 50mm of 10mm dense surface course. • Removal of all waste material from site.

Visits to the site can take place in the week commencing 15 August 2022.

Submitting tenders Tenders must be addressed to the town clerk in the ordinary course of post and sent to Hemsworth Community Centre, Bullenshaw Road, Hemsworth, Pontefract, WF9 4NE.

Each tender should be sealed with the envelope marked "path tender".

Each tender will remain sealed until the prescribed date for opening the tenders.

The council is not obliged to accept the highest or any tender.

Timeline • 27 July: tender period commences. • 15 - 19 August: site visits. • 9 September: deadline for receipt of tenders. • 15 September: tenders opened and a decision made.
