The brief

LLW Repository Ltd, the “Authority”, is a waste management company that provides goods and services to Customers to treat and dispose low level radioactive waste.

On behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), we manage the national Low Level Waste Repository (LLWR) in West Cumbria and oversee the national programme for Low Level Waste (LLW) to ensure that lower activity nuclear waste is managed effectively across the UK.

To enable the Authority to carry out site operations, the Authority owns a fleet of vehicles.

To ensure the continuation of disposal services to support the Authority’s core objectives, the Authority intends to procure a five year (3 + 2) contract for the Maintenance of the Authority’s Transport Fleet.

The Service provider will be required to undertake the maintenance of the Authority’s fleet as detailed in the scope of work, which will contain four separate elements:- • Planned Maintenance Services • Unplanned Maintenance Services – corrective maintenance • Unplanned Maintenance Services – breakdown/emergency • Management of spares The contract will be a three year contract with the option to extend by a further two years.

The estimated value for three years is £570,000 and the extimated value for five years is £950,000.
