The brief

The University of Sheffield is out to tender on behalf of the Department of AMRC Cymru for High specification computer workstation x2 and Edge device x2.

Scope of Requirement: The AMRC Cymru is developing its Artificial Intelligence capabilities and has identified the training, hardware and software platforms required to support the milestones detailed in the AI roadmap for the next 5 years.

Among the hardware requirements are 2 high specification computer workstations one general data science machine and one high GPU power machine for graphical machine learning training and experimentation work, this may include creation of synthetic data from graphical simulations.

Furthermore, the need for embedded devices capable of 'on the edge' inferencing has been identified to support AI in manufacturing solutions.

The tender is split into three lots LOT 1: GPU Computer Workstation LOT 2: Data Science Computer Workstation LOT 3: Edge Computing x 2 The computer workstations must be able to operate as standalone workstations to include screens, periphery equipment, OS, etc. and facilitate remote access operation when needed.

Provision, Design, and Integration of the Computer systems The AMRC is seeking an end-to-end solution including design, delivery, installation, commissioning ensuring a satisfactory installation of the computer systems and continuing support of systems updates and operation.

To also include any required software subscriptions.

It is requested that suppliers respond to this tender specification in the following format and that quotations are structured in such a way to mirror this response.

This will enable the AMRC to conduct an accurate comparison of specifications from Tenderers.
