The Services of a Medical Physics Expert as required under Regulation 14 of the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2017 (IRMER2017).
Including: - Advice and support on the optimisation of dose and image quality in line with relevant NHSBSP and other professional guidance. - Advice on equipment purchase and procurement. - Performance testing of mammographic X-ray systems as required by Regulation 15 of the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2017 (IRMER2017), and in compliance with recommended IPEM and NHSBSP Standards. - Provision of an annual dose survey - data extraction, analysis and report.
Submission of data for regional and national reports, when requested. - Calculation of patient doses for radiation incidents. - Presence at visits by CQC, as required. - Support for radiographer routine quality control. - Provision and maintenance of spreadsheets for the recording and review of radiographer routine quality control measurements. - Regular monitoring of routine quality control measurements, comparing with national standards and regional data, where available. - Performance measurements and support for the QA of breast ultrasound equipment as recommended in NHSBSP Standards. - Performance measurements of primary reporting monitors as recommended in NHSBSP Standards.
