The brief

Worcestershire County Council is tendering for an Advocacy and Independent Visitor Service for eligible children and young people.

Local Authorities have a duty to make arrangements for advocacy support for children and young people in receipt of social care services who want to express their views or make a complaint.

The service will be accessible for all children open to WCC Children's Services, who have a Child in Need Plan, Child Protection Plan, a Looked after Care Plan or Care Leavers with a Pathway Plan.

Independent Visitors are volunteers who befriend and spend time with a child or young person within Local Authority care.

The service is for the provision of an Independent Visitor scheme for children and young people who are Looked After by WCC Children's Services or a Care Leaver.

The child or young person may be in a placement within Worcestershire or in another Local Authority area.
