The North East Area Council wishes to procure a responsive, efficient and accountable, local, uniformed Environment Team service, with a strong focus on the provision of local Apprenticeships.
The North East Area Council have highlighted the two Key Priorities Economy and Regeneration to achieve local solutions to building employment and skills across the North East Area Council Local Environment to improve the local environment for local citizen's The provision of the environmental service will be delivered through the employment of apprentices to provide the following services through the contract Scheduled work covering as a minimum Litter removal Emptying bins in the area Removal of dog fouling Street sweeping Street clearance Weed and vegetation removal Improvements to street furniture Reactive Work covering the following Pruning of vegetation Painting of street furniture Minor repairs to fencing Strimming a grassed area Removal of litter Removal of dog fouling Removal of epicormic growth Hedge strimming Erection of street signs The Apprenticeship and Employability Study Programme through the Environment Service will provide the young people with a recognised knowledge and competency qualification, and hands on learning approach to enhance their qualifications and improve their CV's.
It will deliver a recognised route into work and improve educational achievement, which in turn will strengthen young people's employment prospects and aspirations.
The contract commences on 1 June 2016 with a 10 month contract and 3 potential extensions of 12 months each.
The budget is £245,000 per financial year( Total value over whole contract if all extensions taken is £940,000 - budget for contract year one is £205,000 for 10 Months )
