The brief

Southwark Council are looking for a user-led organisation or disability service provider to work collaboratively with disabled young people, parents/ carers and activity providers in Southwark to improve provision of short breaks for young people with SEND.

This will involve training young people and parents/ carers to participate in reviews of local short breaks provision and universal activities, in order to identify barriers to access and areas for improvement that can feed into individual action plans.

The successful supplier will support activity providers to implement their action plans by coordinating a programme of training opportunities and events through the year to share good practice and support skills development.

They will also administer small grants to support organisations to make small changes to their environments, purchase small pieces of equipment and/or but not limited to the remuneration of staff for attending training.
