BFI Player Classics US - AWARD
£75,000 — awarded.
This is a contract result notice, not an open opportunity. Details from the official award data.
This sits in the upper-middle of the Recreation, Culture & Sport band — a substantial contract for the sector. Based on 3,522 valued Recreation, Culture & Sport tenders in our corpus.
In 2019 the BFI, the UK's lead organisation for film, launched BFI Player Classics, an expertly curated new SVOD collection of the best quintessentially British films.
Initially on Roku Channels, and now on Apple Channels, BFI Player Classics sought to build on the huge success of BFI Player in the UK with a unique content offering for US audiences with over 200 subscription only British or British co-production films, picked by BFI experts.
Among the prestige filmmakers are Alfred Hitchcock, John Schlesinger, Ken Russell, Lindsay Anderson, Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger, Nicolas Roeg, Ridley Scott, Sally Potter and Terence Davies.
The BFI are now looking to enter the next phase of our US strategy with a direct to consumer platform option for our US audiences.
The new platform will provide the BFI a direct link to our US audience and offer our customers an alternative method of accessing the same great content provided by our existing branded services.
The BFI would like to partner with a proven best in class end-to-end OTT service provider to achieve our ambitions in the US market.
The platform must be secure, cost-efficient, scalable, offer multi-platform capacity and full end-to-end SVOD capability.
