The brief

Stapleford Town Deal Executive Board has instructed Broxtowe Borough Council (the Council) to appoint a Contractor to provide a final design and build a new cycle proficiency training track and a separate cycle path at Ilkeston Recreation Ground, Ilkeston Road, Stapleford, Nottingham NG9 8JL and bids are invited from suitable contractors.

The requirement is the final design and build of: Project A - a mini road network cycle proficiency training facility (the anticipated land available for this is 2650m2).

Project B - a LTN1/20 compliant cycle track around the recreation ground capable of integrating with a wider off and on road LTN 120 compliant network; The approximate length of this track is 610m-615m.

The scope is further detailed in Part 3 and supporting ITT documents.

Interested parties are strongly urged to visit the site and ensure they do their due diligence on the requirements.

This is a public space and no appointment is necessary.

The tracks will need to be completed by late March 2023, The Standard Form of Contract is the JCT Intermediate Building Contract with Contractor's Design 2016 (ICD), signed under seal.

The life span of the project is expected to be very long term so the infrastructure must be long lasting materials with minimal maintenance costs are to be used.
