The brief

The Brooksby Building is a newly constructed and completed large animal High.

Containment (Level 4) facility, designed and engineered to achieve ACDP3 and SAPO4 bio-containment levels.

The building is arranged with 6 large animal holding suites, with each animal holding suite comprising 4 individual rooms.

As the "Occupation "Day 2" Projects" continues to progress, to provide Pirbright complete assurance of suitability for SAPO 4 / ACDP operation.

At present this comprises of four areas: 1.

Ventilation.

A working group comprising Pirbright Ventilation, Process safety, BMS and Biosafety SMEs has been formed to undertake this performance verification.

It is proposed that the 3rd party commissioning specialist will support this process in conjunction with the Brooksby ventilation installation & commissioning engineers.

Accordingly, an allowance of 1 day per week to the end of December 2025 has been made, for a total of 20 days allowance.

Incinerator.

The following estimates have been made to support the incinerator programme of works.

This will bring the incinerator to a fully operational and commissioned condition, sufficient for SAPO 4 ACDP 3 studies to commence. - Commissioning, Validation & Verification, and supervision: 2 days /week.

Incinerator total: 50 days 3.

Safety Instrumented Function (SIF) installation & commissioning. - 5 days supervision and technical support.

Occupation and Work Package 2 works support. (Supporting on-site management & coordination of work activities & interdependencies, basement issues support, technical support, meetings and administration). - 7 days supervision and technical support.

Total: 82 days (June 2025 - end December 2025) This period requires specialist technical support from those possessing detailed knowledge and experience of the Brooksby facility.
