The brief

Buckinghamshire Council is looking to award a fixed cost integrated Healthy Lifestyle Service contract for an initial 5 year term, with the option to extend for a further two 12 months periods.

The service will deliver evidenced based health improvement covering prevention, treatment and behaviour change interventions, to help Buckinghamshire residents.

The service will target the four main modifiable lifestyle behaviours that reduce life expectancy, increase health inequalities, and increase the risk of chronic diseases including; • Physical Inactivity • Unhealthy Diet • Smoking • Harmful consumption of Alcohol This will be achieved through elements including a universal self-management offer and specialist behaviour change programmes covering • Smoking Cessation • Adult Weight Management • Child Weight Management • Outreach NHS Health Checks • Enhanced IBA alcohol Intervention The authority is of the opinion that TUPE will apply to this procurement.

Potential providers should note that there is a budget cap per annum for the Healthy lifestyles Service in Buckinghamshire, this is detailed in the procurement documents.

The estimated value is based on the full potential 7 year contract period, including the two 12 month extensions.

The council is mindful that the service requirements may vary over time and would seek to modify the contract if this should occur.

Changes to the contract sum would be negotiated with the appointed contractor based on the costing submitted in the tender.
