The brief

Dinnington St John's Town Council invites tenders for the resurfacing of the pathways within Coronation Park, Laughton Road, Dinnington.

Minimum requirements • Construction Line / Chas. • £5 million public liability insurance. • Two years trading. • Achieve a score of over 35 on Experian. • Two references of previous work ideally within a similar industry and/or setting.

Background to works Dinnington St John's Town Council owns several facilities within the local area, including Coronation Park on Laughton Road, Dinnington, Sheffield S25 2PS, a small public open space for use by the community.

The facilities have been up kept to a good standard, but a schedule of works has been agreed by the council for the re-surfacing of the pathway areas, all currently constructed with block paving.

The Works There is a block-paved footpath that covers approximately 400m2.

We are looking to instruct a contractor via this tender process to carry out the works below.

The works will need to be carried out Monday to Friday and weekend work can be arranged if required.

You will be responsible for any required barriers and signage.

A schedule must be provided and adhered to so that the council can ensure the public is aware of the works that are happening and the areas of the park that will be out of bounds for the duration of the work.

A site visit is required to confirm measurements.

This tender is a fixed price tender and no variations will be accepted.

Specification • Removal of existing block paving and disposal off-site • Re-use/replace path edgings as required • Adjust manholes where required • Supply and lay min.

50mm binder course. • Supply and lay min.

25mm dense surface course • Removal of all waste material from site Visits to the site can take place by arrangement with the Clerk.

Submitting tenders Tenders must be addressed to the town clerk in the ordinary course of post and sent to 64 Laughton Road, Dinnington, Sheffield, S25 2PS.

Each tender should be sealed with the envelope marked "cemetery path tender".

Each tender will remain sealed until the prescribed date for opening the tenders.

The council is not obliged to accept the highest or any tender.

Timeline • 28 September: tender period commences. • From 28 September: site visits. • 4 November: deadline for receipt of tenders. • w/c 7 November: tenders opened and a decision made.
