Commissioning Services for Vulnerable Adults Events
In 2015 the Suffolk Learning Disability Partnership Board launched the Joint Learning Disability Strategy, which was created in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders across Suffolk.
In response to the strategy Adult and Community Services (ACS) at Suffolk County Council is looking at how it can support the aspiration and vision of the strategy and make the changes the strategy describes.
As part of this work, ACS are holding a number of events that give people with the opportunity to tell us what changes they think we should make, and how we could best deliver the Learning Disability Strategy.
These events will take place during late June and July.
The events will take the form of an Appreciative Inquiry (AI).
An Appreciative Inquiry is a solutions focussed approach that focusses on what people think works well so we can create a shared vision for the future.
These events bring together people from all areas – people, their families and carers, social work services and providers – and enable them to discuss and explain to us their ambitions for the future.
We will be holding separate events for 3 key service areas: • Supported Housing • Respite • Day, Evening and Weekend Opportunities At each of these events, we will be asking you to talk about your own experience of these services, as well as what you would like to see from them in the future.
We will also ask you to give us some suggestions of what this could mean in practice.
In order to make sure you have a chance to have your say, we have put events on at a number of locations around the county.
These events will not affect the way that your current services run.
Rather, we want to use them as a chance to listen to what you is important to you.
If you would like to sign up to attend one of these events, please follow the Eventbrite link at the end of each event description on the attached document.
Please note, due to limited numbers of spaces available we would like to remind you that it is one ticket per person, and we will be allocating spaces proportionally to make sure that there is good representation from people, their families and carers, social work services and providers.
Appreciative Inquiry Key Dates: All AI events will run from 11am until 15.30pm unless stated otherwise.
