Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council invite tenders for the supply of Multi-disciplinary Floating Support Services.
The service will support at least 458 households at any one time across the whole of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
The successful provider will support vulnerable young people and adults to live independently.
The service will be a visiting housing-related support service and is intended to be short-term (3-6 months) and will provide a flexible, practical service to resolve any issues that may be impacting on their housing situation and support independence.
Care tasks are excluded from this service (e.g. personal care, domestic tasks, childcare, specialist counselling).
This service is not aimed specifically at older people (there is a separate Older Peoples Visiting Support Service in Cambridgeshire).
The contract is for an initial period of three (3) years, with an optional extension of one (1) year.
Commissioners view that floating support delivers good value for money and the direction of travel with regard to housing related support is that this model of support is its preferred option.
With this in mind it is therefore envisaged that there may be increased budget available to support people who are currently living in supported housing if it is deemed to provide better value for money following the Supported Housing Review taking place in 2018.
