The brief

The DfE will be inviting tenders for a delivery partner for the Care Leaver Covenant project.

At its simplest the Care Leaver Covenant is a promise made by organisations in the business, public or voluntary sectors to support care leavers aged 16-25 who sign the Covenant.

The promise needs to be backed up by a practical offer of support in the form of work related opportunities such as apprenticeships, mentoring (for instance help managing their money), free or discounted goods and services.

The appointed delivery partner will have ambitious plans to build on the Covenant achievements to date and secure signatories backed by meaningful offers from major companies as well as local organisations on a national and local scale.

Those offers will relate to one or more of the five outcomes in Keep on Caring that we want care leavers to achieve so that they make a more effective transition from care to independence and particularly the outcome related to education, employment and training.

Organisations interested in submitting a bid for this contract are invited to take part in a telephone conference on Friday 7 January 2020 from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm.

If you would like to participate in the call please email Michael Allured and Ashni Tyler and you will receive an invite.
