The brief

The current Momentum fund will close at the end of 2015/16.

We have an investment available for 2016/17 – 2017/18 to continue to address the career development of artists and bands; however we are looking to review its aims to take account of other provision and opportunities in order to better address gaps in support.

A funding commitment after 2017/18 is not confirmed, and therefore we wish to consider how best to ensure sustainability of support in the absence of further funding.

For example, to consider how ACE can develop responsibilities and opportunities for artist support within the existing industry, and act as funder via our standard programmes rather than through bespoke funds.

In 2013 ACE commissioned a study to establish what type and level support services for artists and bands were available .

We now require a piece of research to build on this and explore how well these support services are supporting artists and bands, and what gaps exist in provision.
