The brief

CBC is seeking a fresh approach to the development of a Sustainability Plan for Central Bedfordshire that takes into account our unique features, location, future growth and technological advancements with respect to the services we provide, residents, businesses and wider.

The Aim is: To review and acknowledge progress made to date to identify examples of good practice and to also highlight new opportunities to be explored.

To create a Sustainability Plan that is a practical statement of key the actions that will be taken by the council to enable us to move towards a position where we genuinely lead by example in relation to all relevant Sustainable Development Goals, with a particular focus in relation to climate change.

To enable the council to influence and inspire stakeholders through demonstrating a clear sense of direction on climate change and wider sustainability agenda, and where appropriate using whatever mechanisms are available to us to directly influence other key stakeholders who operate in the Central Bedfordshire area to also take meaningful action to address these issues positively.

To guide investment decisions by the council and partners to enable more effective and focused delivery of integrated interventions which could support the aspiration for Central Bedfordshire to become zero carbon by 2030.

Central Bedfordshire Council is now seeking a suitably experienced consultancy to support the development of a Sustainability Plan for Central Bedfordshire Council and undertake work on the following workstreams: Workstream A: Baseline evaluation and benchmarking Workstream B: Opportunity mapping Workstream C: Development of a Sustainability Plan for next 10 years Full details are available within the Tender specification.

Last date for receiving questions on Intend system is Noon, Friday 1st November 2019 Return of Tender - Completed Tenders and attachments should be submitted electronically, by the due date via our "In-tend" electronic tendering system.

Tenders must be uploaded via the "My Return" section of the system.

Tenders submitted through the correspondence facility will not be considered.

Your Tender must be submitted via the In-Tend system by no later than 12:00 noon on 8th November 2019.

Tenders received after that time will be excluded.
