The brief

Derbyshire County Council intends to appoint a single supplier for the Provision of First Aid Training to ensure:- • A consistent approach to current first aid methodologies with a subsequent reduction in the risks associated with the operation of differing techniques. • A consistently high standard in delivery of training across the Council • A reduction in costs through the use of a single administration process • A single point of contact for the management of the contract.

The contract is to provide training for employees of the Council as well as members of the Derbyshire Partnership and should cover the skills and knowledge required to allow both employees & associates of the Council and members of the Partnership to confidently and competently carry out first aid duties.

It is important that the first aid training provider ensures that all who undertake first aid training are competent and confident in their roles and abilities when providing support and care.

The demand for courses fluctuates.

There are peaks at the beginning and end of each school term and half term; at least 20 - 30 trainers are required for some of these dates.
