The brief

The Office of the Durham Police, Crime & Victims Commissioner (ODPCVC) is looking to contract with a service provider to provide a counselling service for the SARC (Sexual Assault Referral Centre).

The service must meet the acute needs of male & female victims of rape and sexual violence in a timely manner The counselling service will be made available to individuals who have experienced rape and or sexual assault and who live in County Durham or Darlington, regardless of where the incident occurred.

This includes police and non-police referrals, males and females.

Clients will need to be provided with a high quality therapeutic counselling service delivered by appropriately qualified counsellors who abide by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
