Future Energy Trials - Electricity Generation
To install a system providing fast charge electricity to cars using green, renewable energy sources at locations where electric supply infrastructure is poor or non-existent.
System to be easily deployable, without significant reliance on infrastructure.
If the initial unit trial is successful, it would be widened to include several UK dispersed locations over the following phased approach.
Phase 1 will be a proof of concept at a single location.
Phase 2 and 3 will be an expansion of the capability with geographically dispersed sites.
The Defence Support Team, part of Strategic Command within the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD), wish to inform potential suppliers of an intended procurement to acquire services of a suitably skilled and qualified supplier to undertake a trial for an electricity generation system.
It must be readily available and have the capability to provide fast vehicle recharge speeds using green renewable energy sources.
Initial trial would be to recharge 5 cars concurrently, although this could be amended depending on the technology.
This RFI Notice has been published, as an initial enquiry only, to obtain information from potential suppliers and/or independent experts to develop a robust requirement and procurement/commercial strategy.
This RFI is not a commitment to launch a formal procurement procedure or to ask potential suppliers to express an interest in the requirement.
Context Brief: Electric infrastructure to support Electrical Vehicles (EVs) charging is limited in areas around the MOD estate.
