The brief

Scottish Natural Heritage is trialling a farm payments system on behalf of the Scottish Government based on the quality of the results delivered in regard to habitat improvement.

We need to help users [mainly but not exclusively farmers] understand the quality of the habitats they are paid to manage, help them gather evidence of improvement, and analyse the data on improving outcomes especially in regard to climate change mitigation, carbon storage, and increasing biodiversity.

In doing so we want to help farmers understand how they can improve nature on their land, and tackle the twin challenges of climate change and biodiversity loss.

So how can technology help farmers improve the environment under their stewardship, and track that improvement?

Please note: Scottish Natural Heritage will soon be changing its name to Nature Scot Please visit our website for information on CivTech and how to get involved https://www.civtechalliance.org/civtech-innovation-flow

The gates

What this notice demands of you

1 named, none in explicit obligation language. Each one is quoted from the notice.

We need to help users [mainly but not exclusively farmers] understand the quality of the habitats they are paid to manage, help them gather evidence of improvement, and analyse the data on improving outcomes especially in regard to climate change mitigation, carbon storage, and increasing biodiversity.

Matched against the notice text, so this is a floor — the tender pack will demand things the notice never mentions. “Says must” means the quoted sentence itself used obligation language; anything ambiguous is left as a mention.
