The brief

In line with statutory requirements, Rutland County Council intends to contract an organisation to provide Healthwatch services from 1st April 2018.

The services will be required to deliver the statutory duties for Healthwatch as set out in the Health and Social Care Act 2012 and support the Council to meet its responsibility in relation to information and advice services under Section 4 of the Care Act 2014.

It does not include the requirement for NHS Complaints Advocacy Services which is currently contracted separately within Rutland The proposed contract length is 3 years, starting April 2018 with the option to extend annually for a further 3 years.

This will be subject to satisfactory performance, and enable need and requirements to be reviewed.

The maximum contract period will be 6 years, ending March 2024.

The contract value will be set at a value of £66,500 per year, £399,000 over the lifetime of the contract.
