The brief

AWARD FOLLOWING FORMAL EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST INVITED PRIOR TO THE RUNNING OF A CLOSED TENDER: Lancaster University's Sports Centre, having been completed in 2011, is currently the subject of two phased extensions, Phase 1A and Phase 1B.

Phase 1A, a conditioning suite, is under construction on site and due for completion in December 2018.

Phase 1B sees the core facilities of the sports centre expanded, with the intention to house a new build, two storey building housing a sports hall, with a first storey plant room, and internal storage in accordance with Sports England guidance.

The total footprint of the building is approximately 1911.615m².

The University seeks to appoint a Contractor for these works to fulfil both Principal Contractor and Principal Designer responsibilities under the CDM regulations 2015.

RIBA Stage 4 information will be available at tender stage.

The project must attain a BREEAM rating of Excellent and an EPC A rating.

The location of the site is Bailrigg Campus, Lancaster, LA1 4YW.

The start on site date for the works is 24th June 2019, with completion by 17th April 2020.
