The brief

With a focus now on accessibility, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) are looking to put a contract in place to ensure that our Digital Services work for everyone, including users with disabilities, specific needs and those who require assistive technology.

It is a legislative requirement, that all our online services need to be compliant with level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2), in line with The Public Sector Bodies Part 2 (Websites and Mobile Applications) of the Accessibility Regulations 2018.

The supplier will need to factor in any future updates and changes applicable to the guidance and regulations.

DVLA needs to demonstrate that we have tested our services with all customers regardless of ability.

This continues to be a mandatory requirement of the Government Digital Service (GDS) Standard Assessments, where any issues are resolved before the online service is moved into public beta.
