Data sharing to support Floating Offshore wind in the Celtic Sea
Celtic Sea Power (CSP) is supporting early strategic planning for floating offshore wind in the Celtic Sea with a particular objective to support the streamlining of leasing and consenting.
CSP is seeking to create regional characterisation models of known environmental and physical characteristics to help build a sound evidence base for future decision making.
Areas under current consideration include the wind and metocean resource, birds and marine mammals, eDNA, geophysical conditions and the subsea acoustic environment.
It is intended to share CSP's summarised data reports via an online data portal which is due to go live in November 2022.
This is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund This notice is to inform all interested parties of the opportunity to access the raw CSP underpinning data on the basis of sharing equivalent data which can improve the veracity of regional models, improve the evidence base and improve decision making.
This opportunity will be available to all interested parties on the terms set out in a data sharing agreement.
A master template data sharing contract has been provided along with an FAQ document and an example Campaign description Current data sets being collected by CSP which could be shared through this agreement include Floating Lidar collected wind resource data and digital aerial bird and marine mammal survey data There is an opportunity to raise clarifications on the terms and conditions set out in the master template.
These Clarifications should be sent to neil.farrington@celticseapower.co.uk by 1700 (local time) on 26/10/2022.
Responses will be anonymised before being published through this portal on 28/10/2022.
It is anticipated that the Template Data Sharing Agreement will be published on this portal before 1st November 2022, after which time terms will be non-negotiable.
