Waste Management
This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to raise awareness of a forthcoming contract opportunity for Waste Management and to give interested parties the option to participate in a further market engagement exercise.
This exercise aims to provide the Council with the market provider views on its proposals for Social Value and to help further shape the procurement and services to ensure our approach is in line with the waste reforms and current market offers.
The required Waste Management services are to operate and maintain the Councils existing facilities that are due to be handed back when the existing PFI contract extension expires in March 2028.
The facilities continue to have a good track record of performance and are well maintained by the incumbent contractor.
The new contracted Waste Management services must be flexible to adapt to currently uncertain future changes in legislation that will have an impact on tonnages, waste composition, calorific value and types of material to be recycled.
The service(s) are required to be in place by 1st April 2028 and the contract will be for a minimum of ten (10) years, with an option to extend up to a further five (5) years.
Interested parties can find participating details of the market engagement on YorTender https://yortender.eu-supply.com this includes a schedule of questions and a link to the background information that was published in May 2022.
Closing date for this Market Engagement is 17:00 on 27th September 2024
