The brief

The Electrical Power Research Group (EPRG) at Newcastle University is the UK's largest academic research group in Electrical Power, involved in activities from Nano Watts to Giga Watts.

Through the EPRG's state-of-the-art research laboratory facilities, EPRG's activities are highly cross-disciplinary.

The EPRG is well known for its high level of industrial engagement including automotive, aerospace, renewable and consumer goods applications.

One of the ongoing activities within EPRG is related to the 'More Electric Aircraft Technologies', with focus on Electric Propulsion Systems for the future aircrafts.

These new aerospace technologies need to be tested at representative environmental conditions, e.g. high altitude with low ambient temperature and low atmospheric pressure (flight altitude of 20,000m).

An appropriate Thermal and Vacuum chamber is needed to enable such testing conditions.

The scope of this requirement is for the supply and delivery of a Thermal Vacuum Chamber, with a minimum 12 months warranty.

This must also include the provision of any training and software required to operate the equipment, plus all documentation required to ensure the continued safe operation of the equipment.
