HCC - 06/24 - The Provision of a Contract for the Operation of Waste Transfer Stations and Associated Haulage

Hertfordshire County Council is currently out to procurement of a Contract for the Operation of Waste Transfer Stations and Associated Haulage The Council is a Waste Disposal Authority with six long term contracts for disposal of approved waste at disposal facilities outside of Hertfordshire.

Details of the disposal facilities can be found in the Specification.

As all disposal facilities are outside of the administrative area there is a requirement to bulk transfer the waste at transfer stations prior to the onwards transportation to the disposal facilities.

This procurement is an open process.

Organisations wishing to take part in this project are invited to 'express an interest' and also 'opt in' which will give access to the full procurement documents in the e-tendering system.

The use of Lots has been considered for this procurement, but have not been used, the reason they have not been used is to provide best value to the council through economies of scale and increase the flexibility of the service.

For example the ability for staff to move between facilities should tonnages received at each facility change significantly. .
