The brief

Bury Council is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced operators for inclusion on a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for home to school and college transport.

The service provides transport for children and young people with special educational needs to schools and colleges both within and outside the borough of Bury.

The passengers using this service will have a range of additional needs; learning difficulties, behavioural difficulties, sensory, hearing and visual difficulties, autistic spectrum disorder or physical disability.

A passenger escort will be allocated to a schedule where required to accompany the passengers on their journey to and from school/college however, some children and young people are able to travel unaccompanied.

The DPS will commence on 1 June 2023 for a period of 3 academic years with an option to extend for a further academic year.
