The brief

The service will provide daytime support at a suitably adapted central base within Calderdale on a Saturday or Sunday.

This will provide daytime respite at the weekends for carers, as well as peer support for older people and disabled people over 65 to reduce social isolation.

The contract will commence on 1st September 2024 and expire on the 31st August 2027, there is no option to extend beyond this date.

Scope The Weekend Daytime Support Service will: • Allow informal Carers to have regular breaks from caring in order to maintain their caring role and enhance their wellbeing. • Support Carers by maintaining contact and signposting them to carer support services and other support services for the person they care for. • Deliver social support to ensure Service Users maintain independence and prevent social isolation. • Be responsive ensuring that work is undertaken collaboratively and that Service Users have a voice and direct involvement in the Service they receive
