Tender Brief for the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), Sustainability Appraisal (SA) and Appropriate Assessment of the Black Country Core Strategy (Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall & Wolverhampton Councils The four Black Country Authorities of Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton have a long history of co-operation and joint-working, and this has continued with the production of the Joint Black Country Core Strategy, which was adopted in 2011 and is a key element of the Local Plan for each Authority.

The Strategy, along with supporting information can be found on the following website: http://blackcountrycorestrategy.dudley.gov.uk/ (For the remainder of this brief this group of Authorities shall be referred to as the Black Country Authorities – BCA.) An SEA, SA and AA was undertaken as part of the preparation of the 2011 Black Country Core Strategy, and can be found at the following webpage: http://blackcountrycorestrategy.dudley.gov.uk/evidencesa/ .

A Sustainability Appraisal was carried out at each stage of the document production and the requirements of Strategic Environmental Assessment were enshrined in the SA report that accompanied each stage of the document.
