The brief

Luton and Dunstable (L & D) Pathology Department currently use the Cerner Classic PathNet Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to support the Blood Sciences and Cellular Pathology functions.

The LIMS IT system support is currently provided by Cerner but Cerner have announced withdrawal of support for this product globally as of 31/12/2015.

There is an urgent need therefore to contract with an alternative support company who is experienced in supporting the Cerner Classic PathNet product.

The support service consists of supporting the software and services environment only; the local server and SAN equipment as well as the laboratory equipment including PC's and printers will be supported by the Trust and its sub-contractors.

It is envisaged that the new support contract will commence from 01/10/2015
