GMMC Debris Screen Package 21 - 22
Following an asset failure, the national stock of 2,553 trash screens were reviewed for compliance with the guidance contemporary at the time of construction.
The main objectives were to ensure effective flood management and to ensure compliance with design guidance to limit future liabilities.
A phased approach has been taken to allow for the schemes to be delivered to programme.
Description of works: The works are based on a CIRIA review, currently being undertaken by a Design Consultant.
This package of works will require that the screens will either be removed, replaced, or modified to meet the new guidance legislation.
The FOF Lot 1 supplier may be required to undertake some design elements.
